As a Personal trainer and owner of a gym i often hear the following from clients or members when beginning their exercise journey:

“I’m tired all the time, I’m so low on energy that I  dont know how Im going to even find the energy to train”

“I’m really unfit so i don’t know where to start”

“I have never had abs, so just dont think it’s something i can achieve”

“I’m probably too old now to be able to make significant changes to my body shape”

“I dont think i can follow a ‘diet’ as I’m not sure i could stick to it as ‘dieting’ is strict “

Sound familiar???

All of the above are common excuses that we tell ourselves daily in order to avoid doing something that is uncomfortable for us, its a negative narrative that if we tell ourselves enough we re-in force and start to believe.

If we really want change then we need to step out of our comfort zones and look to do the things that we have been avoiding, but we also need to understand if we try and do it all at once we are setting ourselves up to fail.

Darren came to Alpha Athletic only 4 months ago when we first opened our doors.

Darren begun by making it a habit of attending the gym a minimum of 3 x per week, simple right?

Then once this became habit/second nature Darren started to look at the foods  he was eating and where his calorie(macros split) was coming from.

It was very apparent after keeping a simple food log for 3 days where he was going wrong and once he addressed this and implemented the changes, that’s when the magic happened.

At Alpha Athletic we cant stress enough that exercise and eating healthy are lifestyle choices that are supposed to compliment and improve your day to day life and NOT take over it!

If you want to find out more about how Alpha Athletic and the fantastic training community we have created here can help, then why not send us an email to info@alphaathletic.co.uk or alternatively drop us a call on 01952820931 to find out more.

We look forward to hearing from you.
